Ashal Chhimeki Nepal-ACN (Good Neighbors Nepal-GNN) is a non-government   organization, established in 2002 at Kathmandu, Nepal with the aim of transforming the community for the sustainable development holistically. The major areas of interventions are education, health, sanitation & WASH, income generations & vocational education, network building and partnerships, emergency response, and advocacy.

Good Neighbors Nepal (GNN) is a national NGO working in Nepal since 2002 with the objective of improving the lives of people, especially community through education, livelihood activities, health services, WASH, advocacy, network building, Open Defecation Free Campaign and disaster risk reduction. GNN invites application for following positions for Urban Agriculture and Economic Development (A & ED) Project in Kathmandu with the funding of World Vision International Nepal (WVIN).

Education Qualification

Project Coordinator Post

Academic Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in the given sector, management, social science or business studies with minimum 3 years working experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team or
  • Master degree in the relevant field, management, social science of business studies preferred with minimum of 2 years of work experience in managing multiple projects with diverse team
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes
  • Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts

Sector Knowledge:

  • Have a good technical knowledge and experience on sector, data and information management
  • Proven project management and financial management experience
  • Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period
  • Presentation skill to highlight on the areas of success and failures with qualitative and quantitative data and relevant information

Finance and Admin Officer Post

Academic Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree of Commerce, Business Studies or Equivalent
  • Master Degree in Finance/Accounting or Equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in independently handling budgeting, financial accounting, planning and analysis in I/NGO and preferably within WVIN projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet
  • Experience of working in a computerized accounting environment like IPAS, FAMAS.
  • Ability to lead financial management of the project/program and make the linkage of this with overall financial management of the organization

Sector Knowledge:

  • General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Good command of English & Nepali languages (written & spoken)
  • Practical knowledge of project budgeting, accounting & reporting
  • Able to articulate and communicate ideas well verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of tax and compliance
  • Demonstrated Mentoring, Orientation & Training Skill
  • Good interpersonal, problem-solving & time management skills
  • Willingness to work under pressure with tight deadlines and to travel across the project areas.

MEAL Officer Post

Academic Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social science or development studies in the field relevant to M&E At least 2 years of experience working with I/NGO in the field of monitoring, evaluation and accountability sector

Sector Knowledge, Skills & competency:

  • Data collection méthodologies – qualitative and quantitative
  • Effective written and oral communications skills including presentation and reporting skills
  • Computer and Technology literacy; Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Develop tools to collect the information against indicator
  • Demonstrate collaboration & team building skills
  • Confidence to represent in district; government and other like-minded organization
  • Programme logic, indicators, M&E plan

Livelihood(Market Coordinator) Post

Academic Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Agriculture Science or relevant discipline with three to five year of experience in related project (preferably Ultra Poor Graduation Model for UGP & Market led agriculture for BSL)

Sector Knowledge:

  • Knowledge on Ultra-Poor Graduation project model
  • Promote and support Savings for Transformation (S4T) in the community.
  • Facilitate & support for economic empowerment of most vulnerable especially women.
  • Contribute to evidence building for livelihoods
  • Knowledge on project model especially on Agriculture (CA, Agri Dev. NSA), NRM and DRR (FMNR, CBDRM), Market Development (LVCD), Alternative livelihood (TVET, SYIB, BF))

Field Mobilizer- Livelihood Post

  • Knowledge on empowerment approaches
  • Basic Knowledge on agricultural market and market system and business development
  • Basic Knowledge on local value chain development process,
  • Basic understanding on situation Analysis of Local Producers and Market Opportunities
  • Basic knowledge on financial service provider’s cooperatives, MFIs, saving groups
  • Skills on mentoring and onsite support
