CARE started its operations in Nepal in 1978 and was one of the first international aid agencies to work in the country. CARE Nepal’s initial focus was on addressing the basic needs of the poor and vulnerable communities through infrastructure development, agriculture extension activities and natural resource management. Education Qualification

Chief Of Party, Post

  • Master’s degree or Equivalent in Social Sciences, Education, International Development and/or a
    relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing and implementing education and/or inclusion
    programs of large scope and size in a development context. Experience on ECED and formal
    early education projects preferred.
  • Previous experience with education programs in Nepal or in the region is a strong advantage.
  • Previous Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, or senior management experience on USAIDfunded programs is required.
  • Proven exceptional leadership in the design, management, implementation, monitoring and
    evaluation of similar-sized international donor-supported programs, with skills in strategic
    planning and thinking, management, supervision and budgeting, and experience managing
    complex activities involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions. Strong
    familiarity with USAID collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) principles and approaches
    preferred.
  • In depth knowledge in any one or more of the following areas: decreasing financial barriers to
    education, increase use of targeted non-formal education, increasing enrollment in early
    childhood education, increasing relevance of education; improving equitable teaching practices,
    and supporting schools to implement prioritized minimum enabling conditions, M&E and
    operations research.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for-profit private
    sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholders, particularly at
    the sub-national level.
  • Strong management skills, strategic vision, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as
    evidenced in previous management positions and programming. Demonstrated commitment to
    PSHEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Harassment, and Abuse).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; excellent demonstrated interpersonal
    and negotiation skills.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff and teams.
  • Track record of strong commitment to sharing knowledge, documenting experiences, supporting
    creative initiatives, and sharing credit.
  • Ability to travel within Nepal as required.

Monitoring Evaluation And Learning Team Lead, Post

  • Master’s Degree or Equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., demography, statistics, economics, etc.)
    with a minimum of 8 years of M&E experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10
    years’ M&E experience.
  • Experience with research, monitoring and evaluation of USAID-funded programs demonstrating
    progressively increasing level of responsibility. M&E experience on education programs is an
    advantage.
  • Experience leading the M&E function of a project is required; this experience should include fullcycle M&E experience (from project inception through close out).
  • Experience in social norms measurement. Proven experience developing indicators to measure
    success in program.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (such as SPSS, STATA, and SAS), and advanced skills with MS
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (or similar tools).
  • Experience in implementation and design of quantitative and qualitative implementation
    research.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytic skills coupled with proven ability in using visuals like
    graphs, charts, maps, and GIS.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully guiding and monitoring the use of data, analysis,
    evaluation and/or research findings to program actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide quality assurance/continuous quality improvement in
    development.
  • Excellent ability to articulate oral and written technical information clearly and effectively to
    both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, depth and breadth of management expertise and
    experience; previous experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity and Diversity, as evidenced in
    previous positions / programming. Demonstrated commitment to PSHEA (Prevention of Sexual

  • Required oral and written fluency in English.

Technical Advisor Post

  • Master’s in Education, Social Sciences or a relevant field with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
    in early childhood/early grade education projects in Nepal or Bachelor’s with additional 3 years
    of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in several of the following areas: gender, equity and
    social inclusion in education; community and parent engagement in local school systems, nonformal and/or accelerated education, increasing enrollment and retention in early childhood
    education, increasing relevance of education; improving equitable and participatory teaching
    practices, and supporting schools to implement prioritized minimum enabling conditions.
  • Experience in curriculum and training design, including knowledge of how best to integrate new
    curricula into existing systems and effectively roll-out training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diversity of stakeholders and strong
    coordination and facilitation skills.
  • Thought leadership in early education and demonstrated experience in advancing the field in
    Nepal and/or regionally.
  • Experience working with USAID projects is preferred.
  • An understanding of how to use project data for adaptive management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and capacity to work both independently and
    as a collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as
    evidenced in previous management positions and programming. Demonstrated commitment to

  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
